Feather is a file compression and conversion tool for macOS developed by Studio Max Redecker. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information in connection with your use of the app.

Information We Collect

Feather does not collect any personal information. The app does not require an account. Feather itself does not connect to the internet; purchases and restores are handled by the App Store on your Mac.

Files you process with Feather remain entirely on your device. We never access, read, upload, or store the content of your files.

Local Processing

All compression, conversion, and file operations performed by Feather occur exclusively on your Mac. No file data, metadata, usage statistics, or any other information is sent off your device.

Purchases (Feather Pro)

Feather Pro is an in-app purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store, under Apple's own privacy policy. We never receive your name, Apple Account, email address or payment details. To know whether Pro is unlocked, Feather asks macOS (Apple's StoreKit) on your Mac whether you own it; the purchase date and whether Pro is shared through Family Sharing are shown in Feather and never leave your device. Apple provides us only with anonymous, aggregated sales reports.

Third-Party Services

Feather does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or crash reporting services. We do not use Google Analytics or any similar tools.

Children's Privacy

Feather does not collect data from any users, including children under the age of 13.

Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the European Union, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Because Feather does not collect any personal data, there is no data to access, correct, delete, or transfer. If you have questions about this, you can contact us at the address below.

Your Rights Under CCPA/CPRA

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) as amended by the CPRA grants you certain rights regarding your personal information. Because Feather does not collect, sell, or share any personal information, these rights are satisfied by default.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
